Witnesseth that the said Elijah Johnston for and in consideration of the sum of one Thousand Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents hath granted sold and conveyed and doo by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said George Dickey his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land Situated Lying and bearing in the county originally Cherokee now Gilmer County and Eighth District Second Section known and distinguished as Two hundred and three to have and to hold Said Tract or parcel of land unto him the said George Dickey his heirs and assigns together with all and Singular the rights members and (?) thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own property use benefit and behoof for ever in fee simple and the said Elijah Johnston for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargain promises unto the said George Dickey his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever in witness whereof the said Elijah Johnston hath here unto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. sign sealed and delivered in the presence of B F Chastian and Benjamin Chastian Elijah Johnston (Seal) Recorded this 20 day of September 1842 P.
