This indenture made and entered into
this 2nd day of Jan. 1882. Witnesseth M.H. Norton 
and wife R.H. Norton, of the first part,
John Foster of the second part, all of the
County of Macon, State of North Carolina.
Witnesseth: that for and in consideration 
of the sum of Ninety ($90) dollars to me in hand
paid the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged We the party of the first part
have this day Bargained, Sold, Conveyed
and by these presents do bargain, sell
and convey to the said John Foster his 
heirs and assigns- a certain tract or
parcel of land, lying and being in the 
Co. and State above named, on the 
Waters of Commissioners Creek the same
being a fraction of Entry No. 12315 the
East end of said No. bounded as follows:

Beginning at a White Oak near the trail
and Creek on the North side of the Creek
runs South one hundred and sixty poles
to a Chestnut, thence East one hundred
poles to a Stake, in the State line, thence
North one hundred and Sixty poles
to a White Oak, then West one hundred
poles to the beginning, Containing
one hundred acres-to have and 
to hold unto the said John Foster his
heirs and assigns, together with all Wood, 
Waters, Mines, Minerals, hereditaments
and appurtanances whatsoever belonging
to the above described land.
We, the said M.H. Norton and wife do bind
ourselves, our heirs, administrators and 
assigns to warrant and forever defend
the right and title of the above land, to
the only propper use of the party of party
second, in fee simple, free from the claim
of myself, my heirs and all and every
person, or persons, whatsoever in
testimony whereof we set our hands
and sealls, day and date above written.
