This indenture entered into this the 9th day of April
1866. Between Alfred Foster of one part and James Pack 
and wife Elizabeth being privily examined without any (competition?)
whatever on her part of the other hand Alfred Foster Macon 
Co. and State of NC Jas Pack and wife Union Co State of 
Georgia of the other part. Witnesseth for and in con-
sideration of the sum of one hundred  dollars to
us in hand paid the Receipt whereof-us hereby ac-
knowledged and the said Jas Pack and wife 
have this day bargained and sold and by these presents
do bargain sell and convey. One fourth interest in 
14th District Section 21 & 28 - Section 73 23 50 - Section 
22 in all the lands owned by Samuel Foster Decd  
on Commissioners Creek County of Macon with 
all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and 
appurtenances thereto belonging to the said law
to have and hold unto A. Foster his heirs and assig-
ns. We Jas Pack and wife do bind our selves
our heirs administrators and assigns to
warrant and defend the above described land
to A. Foster and his assigns free from the claim
of our selves and heirs and assigns and all others
whatsoever in testimony we have set our hands
