This Deed, Made this 22 day of Oct. 1917, by A.P. Foster & wife 
Alice Foster of Macon County, and State of North Carolina of the 
first part to W.A. Foster of Macon County, and State of North 
Carolina of the Second part.
Witnesseth: That said A.P. Foster & wife Alice Foster in consider[-]
ation of Twenty five hundred Dollars the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents doth 
bargain, sell and convey to said W.A. Foster and heirs and assigns 
a certain tract or parcel of land in Macon County, State of North 
Carolina, adjoining the lands of Homer Norton & W.A. Foster and 
others, bounded as follows viz:
I's  Tract- Beginning on a poplar, the North West corner of W.A.
Foster lands Thence W 9 W 57 poles to a Stake, Thence S 80'~
W 48 poles to a hickory-Thence S 67 poles to a hickory in the South 
line-Then West with State Line 122 poles to a Stake, Then N 65 poles
to a Black Oak, then E 44 poles to a hickory Then N 51 Poles to a 
stake-Then E 130 poles to the beginning, containing 90 acres More 
or less.
2nd Tract: Beginning at a stake on the North bank of the Mill Race
& near the North West corner of the above tract, Thence up said 
Mill race to where it leaves the Creek head, then in a Southern 
direction to a stake & pointers at the top of the Cliff on the 
Ridge, Then up the ridge to the line of Above tract. Then E with 
said line to its corner then N to the beginning containing 10 acres 
more or less.
     To have and to hold the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land and
all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said W.A. 
Foster and his heirs, to their only use and behoof forever. And the 
said A.P. Foster & wife Alice Foster covenants with said W.A. 
Foster, his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises
in fee, and hath right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same
are free and clear from all incumbrances and that they will warrant
and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons
whomsoever.
     In testimony whereof, the said A.P. Foster & wife Alice Foster
have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.

McDuffie County
          I, C.F. Hunt, a Notary Public in and for
the County of McDuffie, State of Ga do hereby certify
Book (B-4) Page 313

that this day personally appeared before me A.P. Foster
& Alice Foster his wife who acknowledged the due execution by
them of the foregoing & attached deed of conveyance; and
the said alice Foster, wife of said A.P. Foster being by me
privately examined separate & apart from her said
husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same
doth state that she signed the same freely & voluntarily &
without the dear or compulsion of her said hus-
band or any other person & that she doth still
voluntarily assent thereeto.
          In testimony whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and notarial seal this the 22nd day
of Aug. 1918.

The foregoing Certificate of C.F. Hunt, Notary Public
of McDuffie County, Georgia, attested by the official seal of
his said office is adjudged to be in due form according
to law, and said instrument is adjudged to be
duly acknowledged and proven. Therefore let
the instrument, with the Certificates thereto attested
and this certificate be registered this 27 day of
August, 1918.
