State of N Carolina Macon County Know all men by these Presants that
I William Dodgen of the State and County afore Said for value Recd
of David B Ledford of the State and County aforesaid do Assignee and
Transfere unto the Said David B Ledford all My Right tittle Claim
and Interest to a Certain tract of land lying and Being in the State
and County aforesaid in the District No 6 and Section No 22 Which
land the Said William Dodgin purchased at the land Sail at Franklin
in October one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty sise Containing
fiftysise acres as Represented in the Certificate obtained from the
Commissioner I Do hereby Direct and Request the Secretary of State
to Issue a grant to the said David B Ledford as soon as he may pay
unto the Public treasury of North Carolina Such Sums of Money as may
be Due and owing for said land In Witness Whereof I have hereunto
Set my and [sic] Seal this twenty second Day of Febuay one thousand
Eight Hundred and thirtynine Signed Sealed in the Presants of us

Session 1840 the Within Deed from William Dodgin to David B. Ledford
Dated the 22nd Febuary 1839 was Duly Proven in open Court by the
Oath of Jefferson Moss a Subscribing Witness there to and and [sic]
Recorded in Book D page 39 for Registration
