State of North Carolina No 211 Know ye that we for and in
consideration of the sum of five Dollars for Evry Hundred Acres
hereby granted paid into our treasury by John Lowry [blacked out]
given and granted and by these Presants do give and grant unto the
Said John Lowry a tract of land Containing fifty Acres lying and
being in the County of Macon on Lowrys for of the Cartoogahga Creek
in Distrct No 15 Begining at a Mountain Burch on the East boundry
line of Section No 134 being a Corner of Waldroops land Runing
thence East twenty five poles to a Chesnut thence South Eighty five
poles to a Stak thence West one Hundred and fifteen poles to a Stake
thence North[?] Sixty five poles to a Stake on the line of No 134
thence with said East one Hundred and five poles to a Corner of said
tract thence North twenty five poles to the Beginning Entered the
2nd of May 1836 as by the plat here unto annexed doth appear
together with all Woods Waters Mines Mineral Hereditament and
appertenances to the Said land belonging or appertaining to hold to
the said John Lowery his heirs and assigns for Ever yealding and
paying to us Such Sums of Money yearly or otherwise as our General
assembly from time to time may Direct Provide all ways that the Said
grantee Shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers
office of our Said county of Macon Within twelve Month from the date
here of other wise the Same Shall be void in testimony whereof we
have caused these our letters to be Patent[?] and our grat Seal to
be Here unto affixed Witness Edward B. Dadly Esquire our govenor
Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 15th Day of
Dember in the 63rd year of our Independance and in the year of our
Lord one thousand Eight Hunderd and thirty eight by Command

The above grant was Registered in my office as Register this 31st
