MACON COUNTY, NC - LAND RECORDS - State of North Carolina to Joseph Roland, 1836 ==================================================================== Submitted by Dawn Watson p. 367, Deed Book A, 1829 - 1835, Macon Co., NC State of North Carolina No 3 Know ya that we for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Dollars for every hundred Acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by Joseph Roland hath given and granted and by these Presents [?] give and grant unto the Said Joseph Roland a tract of land Containing fifty Acres lying and being in the County of Macon on the North Sideof Ioatla Creek beginning at a White oak oak [sic] and post oak Situated West twenty poles from the North East Corner of Section No 91 in District No 16 Runing thence North Eight poles to a Chesnut near the gap of a Mountain Crossing the same at Sixty poles thence West one Hundred poles to a Stake thence South Eighty poles to a Spanish oak the North West Corner of Section No 91thence East one hundred poles to the beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed doeth appear together with all Woods Waters Mines Minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the Said land belonging and[?] appertaining to hold to the Said Joseph his heirs and Assigns forever yealding and paying to us Such Sums of Money yearly or otherwise as our general Assembly from time to time may Direct Provided always that the Said grantee Shall Cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our Said County of Macon Within twelve Months from the Date here of otherwise the Same Shall be void In testimony Whereof we have Caused these our letters to be Made Patant and our great Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard D Spaught Esquire our[?] goaman[?] Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raliegh the 30th Day of September in the 61st year of our Independance and in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty sise by Command Wm Hill Secretary Rich D Shaught The above grant was Registered in the Registers office of our County of Macon the 13th Day of March 1837 Certifyed J Howard RMC ==================================================================== Copyright.
