State of North Carolina and County of Macon
Know all men by these Presants that I Benjamin Stiles of the State
and County aforesaid for and in Consideration of the Sum of fifteen
Dollars to me in hand paid hath Bargained and Sold unto David
Carpenter a tract of land on Coweter Creek in District 14 No 52
Bainded as follows Begin at a Red oak Begining Corner of No 2 Runing
North forty eight poles to a Stake then West Sixteen poles to a
Stake then North twenty poles to a Stake then East Sixteen poles to
a Stake then North forty eight poles to a hickary then West twenty
Eight poles to a Hickary then North Seventy eight Degrees West nine
poles to a White Oak then South twenty five Degrees West forty five
poles to a Black Jack then South fifteen West fifty four poles to a
Red oak then South Sixty one Degrees East thirty two poles to a
[blacked out] Eighty eight poles With the line of No 2 to the
beginning Containing fifty nine Acres together With all the
appertenances there unto belonging or appertaining and by these
Presents I Bind my self my heirs Exeutars administrators to Warrent
and Defend the Said lands against my self my heirs and against all
and Every other person or persons Whatsoever unto the Said David
Carpenter his Heirs Exeutars and assignes for his and there only
proper use [illegible] [illegible] of in fee Simple forever in
Witness here of I Set my hand and Seal this 23rd Day of April 1839

North Carolina Macon County Court of please and quater Sessean June
Sessean 1840 the Within Deed from Benjamin Stiles to David Carpenter
for 59 Acres of land Dated 23rd April 1839 was Duly acknowledged in
open Court by Benjamin Stiles the Maker thereof and Recorded in Book
D page 46 for Registration

The above deed Was Registered in my office as Register this 24th Day
of September 1840
