Young Man Killed at Highlands

Thomas Clingman Cabe, aged 17 years, was found dead near Highlands last 
Saturday morning with a bullet hole in the back of his head. On Sunday evening 
Ed. Potts, son of Mr. W.T. Potts, of Highlands, was brought to Franklin and 
committed to jail, charged with the killing of Cabe. Following is the verdict 
of the coroner's jury:

"That the said deceased man came to his death by the hand of Ed. Potts, and 
the said Thomas C. Cabe was shot in the back of the head with a 32 calibre 
ball, and we, the above named jury, also demanded that the said Ed. Potts be 
taken to the county jail at once for safe keeping."
