MACON COUNTY, NC - NEWSPAPERS - Ellijay News, 12 Nov 1920 ==================================================================== Submitted by Dawn Watson Source: The Franklin Press, Franklin, Macon Co., NC, Wednesday, November 12, 1920, Volume XXXV, No. 46, p. 2 Ellijay News. Nov. 9.-There is a report that Mr. Avery Price of upper Ellijay was killed in a logging camp in the State of Washignton [sic]. We have not heard any details, and so still hope that the report is a mistake. A number of Ellijay people went to the box supper at Walnut Creek last Saturday night. They reported a fine time--no disturbances such as we had at Higdonville one of the last times that we tried to have a public gathering. The moving picture show was at Higdonvlile [sic] again last week. The movies are enjoyed by everyone. Miss Kilgore and two of her sisters, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Anita, spent last Sunday at Mr. D. J. Moses' helping the family celebrate Miss Helen Moses' birthday. Mr. Athen Moses and wife, of Gneiss, were visiting friends in this neighborhood the last of the week. Mr. A. E. Peek is taking his political defeat in the game way that we might have expected. R. N. M. ==================================================================== Copyright.
