- Hugh Hayes and other surveyors from Cherokee, are surveying the Geo. W.
Swepson lands in this and adjoining counties. 

- There is considerable mineral exceitement on Tusquittee. 

- F.M. Woody, of the firm of Woody, Bros., of Tenelle, Tenn., was in looking
after some timber interests in the county. They think of locating their
machinery at Murphy is they make a purchase of the timber in this county. 

- The farmers are getting behind with their corn planting on account of so
much rain.
