MACON COUNTY, NC -- NEWSPAPER ITEMS -- HORSE COVE DATA, MAY 1893 HORSE COVE DATA (Local Affairs) PUBLISHED IN THE FRANKLIN PRESS, May 3, 1893 - Vol. VII, No. 29 HORSE COVE, NC Another wedding in the Cove, Mr. T. Douglas Alley to Miss Fannie Thompson, daughter of Maj. J.R. Thompson. S.W. Hill, Esq., has not been very well of late. Mr. J.J. Norris, of Anderson, who has been up improving his place, left Saturday for the World's Fair. Mr. J.C. Gilmer, of Anderson, is stopping in the Cove. Delightful weather for the farmer. Oats seem to be very good. Fruit is very badly damaged by the late frosts, but we think there is plenty left. The wild turkeys are yelping on every side; none have been killed yet.
