Johnston down during the past week. - The Franklin High School will resume work next Monday. - Mr. R.F. Jerrett, of Dillsboro, was in town Sunday night. - Mr. W.R. Johnston came home saturday to take Christmas. - Mr. John R. Leach is home from Bryson City for the holidays. - The J.D. Franks sale will take place on January 10th, 1894. - Mr. R.T. Sisk's family arrived from Cashier's last Wednesday evening. - F.S. Johnston, Esq., left yesterday morning for Atlanta on a business trip. - Superior Court Clerk Lee Crawford went up to Highlands yesterday on business. - Rev. D.F. Carver and family spent Christmas Day with the Editor of the PRESS. - Mr. W.A. Gibson, who has been absent from Bryson City for a year has returned home. - Mr. L.H. Penland has handed us a year's subscription, and will read the press during 1894. - Mrs. Mary Nelson, of Winstead, N.C., has been entered as a new subscriber to the PRESS. - What nicer weather for Christmas could be desired than that we have had during the past week. - We publish, by request, this week an account of the killing of Justice I.S. Wood at Forney, Texas. - Mrs. Logan Berry, of Millshoal, died very suddenly Sunday evening.
