Dillard, of Rabun [Co, Ga.], was in town Monday and Tuesday. - Mr. J.S. Moore left Monday for Bowersville, Ga., with a drove of horses. - Take Simmons liver Regulator after your dinner. It prevents dyspepsia and indigestion. - John Shields, eldest son of W.W. Shields, aged 14yrs, died on Iotla, of typhoid fever last Friday evening. - Mr. E.H. Franks sold to Mr. J.E. Calloway last Saturday, fifty acres of land in Millshoal Township for four hundred dollars. - Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bidwell, of Corundum Hill, were visiting Mrs. Bidwell's father, Mr. L.H. Enloe's family last Saturday and Sunday. - Rev. N.N Norris, Col., of Columbia, S.C., is assigned to the A.M.E Z. Church at Franklin, Cowee, Sugarfork and Rabun Gap, as pastor for this year. - Miss A.V. McPherson, who has been successfully teaching the young ideas of Whittier how to shoot, returned home last Saturday for a month's vacation. - Mr. Thad Waldroop found himself the happy father of two bouncing Democratic boys yesterday morning. The Republicans of Maconare going to get left at that rate. - The Commissioners' court was in session Monday and among other business transacted, they extended the time to allow Sheriff Higdon till the 2nd Monday in May to settle the county taxes; appropriated $65 towards building a bridge across Tennessee river above the Philips ford, and appointed J.S.
