Norris, of Greenwood, S.C., was in town last week. - Rev. J.G. Ammons, of Union county, Ga., was visiting relatives here last week. - Arrangements are being made to rebuild the church of the Good Shepherd in Cashier's Valley. - Revs. J.A. Deal and J.W. Barker are attending the Episcopal Convention in Raleigh this week. - The barber shop will be kept open every day except Sunday in the Love office. - Mr. L.K. Moffitt who lost his sawmill several weeks ago by fire, has rebuilt it and is sawing out lumber again. - Mr. Jule Robinson celebrated his 21st birthday Monday and gave a reception to a select circle of friends in the evening. - Mr. J.E. Rideout, of the Mountain EAGLE, Highlands, gave us a pleasant call last Thursday. - Remember the picnic at the campground next Saturday and let all the Sunday school scholars come out and take an airing and enjoy themselves. - Mr. Jas McKee, of Asheville, has been visiting relatives and friends in and around Franklin. - Geo. A. Erick, Esq., a Shelby attorney, attended court last week. - Clay county has a murder trial on the docket this week, moved from Cherokee. - Mrs. S.L. Rogers left for Lavonia last Wednesday morning to visit her father, Capt. W.M. Addington, who is in feeble health. - C.W. McGee and P.P. Corbin have been commissioned as Deputy Marshals in the revenue department. - Any one wishing their baskets carried to the picnic at the campground will find a conveyance at the Methodist church. - Isn't it about time to clean off the campaign literature from the black-boards in the court house, and take down the tariff tax sign? - Rev. M.R. Kirkpatrick, formerly pastor, and Rev. Jesse W.
