- Married, Jan 25, 1891, at the residence of J.C. Hurst, Mr. J.I. Shepard and
Miss Jane Hurst, Rev. P.R. Rickman officiating. 

- Mrs. Montana Henry, of Lilesville, NC, is visiting relatives and friends in
this community. 

- Messrs. W.E. Ammons and John Shepard are preparing lumber to erect a new
dwelling. 

- Mr. George Bryson is building a dwelling house near Mr. M. Raby's. 

- The Liberty Debating Society had a very interesting debate last Thursday
night, and will have one next Thursday night. 

- Prof. J.B. Carlton departed on the 26th for Bryson City [Swain Co., NC], on
business.
