Dillard and his two daughters of White Co., Ga., are visiting his mother and friends in our Valley. - Miss Emma Curtis has closed her school, and will soon return to her home at Franklin. Miss C. has taught a good school and pleased her patrons. - Mr. Elisha Thomas died on the night of the 1st inst. of pneumonia, was buried at the Baptist Church on the 2nd. - Messrs. W.E. Powell, W.C. Scruggs and G.W. Greenwood have been dividing the lands belonging to the heirs of Thomas Carter, deceased. - W.J. Neville killed the "Grand daddy" of all the hawks last week. He was of the red tail species, and measured four feet and four inches from tip to tip. - Mr. Robert Dillard and Miss Amanda Turpin were married on last Sunday.
