MACON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - JAMES BOYNTON CURTIS, SEPT. 21, 1891 Published in the Franklin Press, Sept. 30, 1891 - Vol. VI, No. 28 OBITUARY James Boynton Curtis, son of William A. and Mary R. Curtis, was born in Rabun county, Ga., March 3, 1881, and died, after a short illness, at the family residence, Franklin, N.C., Sept. 21, 1891, aged 7 years, 6 months and 21 days. The Franklin District High School of which Boynton was a pupil, attended the funeral in a body. The funeral service was conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. D.H. Comann. The remains were laid away to rest in the Methodist church yard, and flowers were strewn on the grave by six little girls dressed in white. Boynton was a bright, good boy, and his spirit has gone to be with God who gave it. May God sustain and comfort the family across the threshold of whose home this shadow has fallen. W.R.
