Attack Fatal

Jesse W. Sheffield Dies from Fatal Heart Trouble

  Jesse W. Sheffield, 84, died at his home on Watauga Tuesday afternoon at 
6:30.  Suffering from a heart attack, he had been ill three weeks.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Shepherd 
Cemetery at Leatherman, the Rev. W. L. Bradley officiating.

  Mr. Sheffield, a farmer, was a member of the Snow Hill Methodist church.  He 
came to Macon County about 65 years ago from Stokes County, settling at Cowee.

  Mr. Sheffield is survived by his widow, the former Betty Sheffield; two 
children, Mrs. Buford Downs, Watauga, and Robert Sheffield, West's Mill, and 
several grandchildren.
