MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - Mrs. Hamp Buckner, 30 Apr 1929 ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville Citizen Microfilm page 121 5-10-1929 Death And Funeral Of Mrs. Hamp Buckner Mrs. Hamp Buckner, age about 30 years, died April 30, 1929. Funeral services were conducted at Bull Creek church May 1st by the pastor Rev. A. P. Sprinkle. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jake Edwards, Zeb White, Henry Sprinkle, D. D. Merrell, George Edwards, Edwin Bryan. God saw fit in His providence to remove from our midst, one that we all loved. She was taken sick about 14 months ago with lung trouble which caused her death. She leaves behind to mourn their loss a grandfather, a mother, two sisters, one brother, a loving husband, six small children and a great host of friends. She was a loving mother, a good wife, a good neighbor, and a true Christian. It was with sad regret we gave her up, but our loss is heaven's gain. God tells us in His word that they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister unto them that shall be heirs of salvation. We don't understand why God would call a mother from her loving children but we find in His Word again that he doeth all things well. Our hearts go out in sympathy for the bereaved ones. I wish to request the prayers of all the Christian people for the family and especially for the father, Mr. Hamp Buckner, and the eldest girl, about 13 years of age who has to step in and take mothers place, just when she needs a mother's council most. May God add his blessings to the family and the News Record and all its readers. Written by a neighbor. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
