Fleet Davis Saturday, July 27th, at 11:45 P.M., Mr. I. [Isaac] Fleet Davis, of Marshall, passed away at the age of 74 years, death being due to heart dropsy. Mr. Davis had been sick exactly three months. The funeral was at 2:00 P.M. from the Free Will Baptist church of Marshall conducted by Rev. J. A. Martin and Rev. Rome Woodson, the body being interred at Rector's Chapel. The pall bearers were: C. D. Bowman, Irvin Candler, Swann Frisby, Ed. Candler, Charlie Ramsey, and Manuel Sexton. The deceased is survived by his wife; one brother, Cling Davis, of Ivy Bridge (Marshall); one sister, Mrs. Laura Worley, of Asheville; and one adopted child, Mrs. M. Shelton. For over fifty years Mr. Davis had been a blacksmith in Marshall, and was a member of the Free Will Baptist church for 23 years or more. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
