Guthrie, formerly of Madison County, lately of Huntington W. Va., died at the home of Mayor Grover C. Redmon, Tuesday morning at 9:45, June 17, 1927, age 49. Heart dropsy was given as the cause of his death. He had been in poor health for more than a year, but became worse recently and his going was rather sudden and unexpected. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Frona Guthrie of Marshall. He leaves his wife and seven children of Huntington, W. Va. He came to Marshall about three weeks ago and was stopping with his sister, Mrs. G. C. Redmon. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Harrison Marler of Craggy and a brother, R. B. Guthrie of Mount Hope, West Va. These with Mr. John Trily of Oak Hill, W. Va., and Mr. George Craft, of Mount Hope, W. Va., attended the funeral which was Thursday afternoon, June 9, at 2:30 o'clock at the Redmon home conducted by Rev. J. A. Martin assisted by Rev. H. L. Smith.
