On Saturday night, May 8th, at 10:30 o'clock, Mrs. Elsie Parker, age 48
years, after an illness of nearly 6 months, departed this life.  Cause of
death was female and kidney trouble.
The Funeral was Tuesday, May 11th at 2:00 conducted by Mr. J. M. Brown.
The body was interred in Reynolds Cemetery at 4:00.  Pallbearers were a
number of her friends, whose names have not been obtained.
Mrs. Parker is survived by one of her parents, Mrs. Susan Woody of Walnut,
N. C.; her husband, Mr. J. N. Parker; five brothers, Messrs. Will, John,
Tom, Hal, and Burnett Woody; two sisters, Mrs. Callie Parker and Mrs. Maggie
Buchannan; and three children, Mrs. Mildred Blankenship, Misses. Carolina
and Maggie Jane Parker
Many out-of-town attendants were present at the funeral
Mrs. Parker died in the French Broad Hospital at Asheville, N. C.  She had
been in the hospital for five weeks.  She underwent an operation April 14th.
Then kidney trouble struck her, from which she did not recover.
