MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - L. S. Plemmons, 30 May 1926 ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville-Citizens Times Microfilm page 79 L. S. Plemmons of Trust Accidentally Killed Himself Mr. L. S. Plemmons of Trust died last Sunday afternoon at a hospital in Asheville as the result of a bullet wound Saturday morning accidentally inflicted upon himself. The body was brought back to Trust and buried Monday. Mr. Plemmons, 48 years old, had traded pistols with a neighbor early Saturday morning. He brought the .25 calibre automatic, which he received in the trade, to his home on Spring Creek and was demonstrating it to his wife when it accidentally fired, the ball piercing his intestines in six places. Mrs. Plemmons, his wife and John Hipps, a neighbor, placed the wounded man in an automobile and rushed him to the hospital. He underwent an operation shortly after his arrival but little hope was held out for his recovery. Surviving are his widow and seven children, five daughters and two sons.
