MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - Mrs. H. C. Randall, 4 May 1929 ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville Citizens Newspaper Date: 5-10-1929 Microfilm page 133 After a lingering illness, Mrs. H. C. Randall, 65 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oren Penland, In West Asheville, Saturday afternoon, May 4th. She is survived by her husband and five children, Miss Dicie, who is teaching near Winston-Salem, Fred of Hendersonville; Norman of Sandy Mush; Mrs. Penland; and Troy, Mexico City, Mexico, also by a niece Mrs. Rankin Wells, and a grandson, Randall Duckett both of whom she raised from infancy and a granddaughter, Bettie Penland, several brothers and sisters and a host of friends who mourn her departure. Mrs. Randall was buried at Payne's Chapel on Sandy Mush the following Monday under a blanket of beautiful flowers. Many were the friends who came in intense sorrow to pay their last respects to her who had in unstinted measure given her life to them in unbroken and unselfish service. Out beyond the curtain of gloom and doubt and pain and night into the realms of light and day, her spirit has flown where friendship and love and peace and service dwell, where by one the faithful are being gathered home into the prepared mansion and God, Himself, standing at the door, wipes away the last tear and bids them a welcome entrance. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
