MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - John E. Rector ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville Citizens Newspaper, North Carolina Microfilm, pg. 80 Death of John E. Rector On Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock Mr. John E. Rector, age 69, quietly passed out of this world, death being due to paralysis, he having been in bad health for several months, and being seriously ill for four days before the end. The funeral was on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. Mr. Sprinkle, assisted by Rev. C. B. Newton. The body was interred at the family cemetery near the home of the deceased, the pallbearers being the deacons of the Marshall Methodist Church. The deceased is survived by one brother, Mr. Elihu Rector of Marshall, R-1, three sisters, Mrs. Nelt Odell, South Carolina, Mrs. Cornelius Wardrup, Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. George Revis of the Ivy section: His wife; and seven children, Mr. Riley Rector, Marshall R-1,; Mrs. P. V. Rector, Marshall; Mrs. Wiley Cassada, New Port News, Va.; Marvin Rector, Savannah, Ga.; Theodore Rector, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Mark Felmet, Asheville, NC and Ambrose Rector, Scale Mound, Ill.
