MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - Owsald Klyne Rector ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville Citizens Newspaper Microfilm pg. 195 Owsald Klyne Rector, of Marshall, age 24, was crushed to death in an automobile collision in Asheville about midnight of Thursday of last week. Klyne and Hubert Edwards and Ralph Redmon were driving down Church Street in Asheville when their car collided with a car driven by Mr. A. H. Harris, of Sylva. Both cars turned over. All except Klyne escaped with minor injuries. He was pinned under the car which crushed him about the breast puncturing both lungs, which caused his death shortly after reaching the hospital in Asheville. Funeral services were from the Methodist church in Marshall at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ralph Shumaker, assisted by Rev. J. T. M. Knox. Interment was at the Pritchard Cemetery. The funeral was on of the most largely attended ever held in Marshall, friends and relatives being here from Asheville, Weaverville, Leicester, [two other towns that are unreadable] Flag Pond, Tenn, and many other points. [There is another paragraph which was not readable] Klyne is survived by his wife, who was before marriage, Miss Vivian Sams, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. A. Sams, of Marshall. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. R. C. Nanney; one brother, Charles Rector; and one sister, Mrs. William Silver, all of Marshall. among the out-of-town people who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Haves, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burnette, Mr. and Mrs C. T. Sprinkle, Mrs. Belle Teague and daughter, Viola, Mr. and Mrs. Jim McBee and two daughters, Thelma and Jimmie, and Mr. Bill Lunsford, all of Asheville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilhelm, Mr. J. T. Lunsford. Mr. Robert Teague and son, Fred, all of Licester; Mrs. Lee Sams and daughter, Miss Jessie, of flag Pond, Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Caton, of Erwin, Tenn. The funeral was in charge of the Odd Fellows, with Prof. J. J.
