MADISON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARY - James W. Redmon, 7 Aug 1926 ----¤¤¤¤---- Asheville-Citizens Times 8-13-1926 Microfilm page 80 James W. Redmon Died Saturday Mr. James W. Redmon, who was struck by a through freight train at a crossing in Marshall, July 31, died Saturday, August 7, about 6:45 in the morning at a hospital in Asheville. Funeral services were at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at Dry Pond Cemetery on Little Pine, conducted by Rev. G. E. Cutshaw, of Greenville, Tennessee, assisted by Rev. H. L. Smith of Marshall and Rev. Jack Shelton of Tenn. Acting as pallbearers were Messrs. Clarence Redmon, Charlie Ramsey, Jerry Ramsey and L. J. Fortner. Mr. Redmon was married twice, his last wife surviving him. He leaves six children; two by his first wife, Mr. Lida Redmon of Greensboro, N. C. and Mr. C. C. Redmon of Barnard. By his last wife, Robell, Glifty[Clifty?], Viola and May. Mr. Redmon leaves on brother, J. E. Redmon, and one sister, Rose Redmon, both of Madison County. The funeral was attended by a large number of people.
