David Page Lamb, Madison County, NC. A native of Greene County, TN, he was a son of Rev. John Rollins Lamb and Sarah Elizabeth Ealy. David wrote his Last Will and Testament in Madison County on 11 November 1925. The original is in the court house records at Marshall. Transcribed and submitted by Marshall L. Styles, mstyles@greenville .infi.net "State of North Carolina, Madison County. I, D.P. Lamb being of sound mind, and realizing the shortness of life, do hereby make this my Will and Testament. I hereby give and bequeath to my son Madison Lamb and to my daughter Elizabeth Lamb, all my real estate of every description; also all my personal property and debts that is now owing to me, or may be owing to me in the future. Said Real Estate & personal property shall be held by the said Madison Lamb and the said Elizabeth Lamb jointly together during their term of natural life. And to my daughter Isabell Barnett I give the sum of $10.00. I would give her more, but she has a husband and sons who are able to support and care for her. I think it nothing but just and right in the sight of God and man that I give my real and personal property to my son Madison Lamb and to my daughter Elizabeth Lamb from the fact they have given their best part of their lives working and caring for me and from the further fact neither of them have ever married and have no children to care for them in their older days, and I feel it is nothing but just and right that my property should go to their support. Witness J.P. Wells, W.M. Lawson. {signed} D .P. Lamb" The will was probated on 29 April 1926 in Marshall, the county seat of Madison County.
