Edmundson Samuel Smithwick to Sarah Olivent, Deed of Gift 1792
Martin County, North Carolina

To all Carolina people to whom these presents shall see - Greetings. I 
Edmundson Samuel Smithwick of the State of North Carolina and county of 
Martin and in _____ _____ that I Edmundson Samuel Smithwick for and in 
consideration of the ______ love and affection that I do bear Sarah Olivent 
of the State and County aforesaid and her heirs____ good causes and 
considerations the said Edmundson Samuel Smithwick hereunto _____ have 
given granted, assigned, ____ _____ and do by these presents for me my 
heirs, executors and assigns, give, grant, aline, devise, release, _____ 
and confirm unto the said Sarah Olivent a certain tract of land lyling 
between the Ready Branch and bear Grass Fork and Pine Log Swmap commonly 
called the Pine Log land containing by estimation two hundred eighty-seven 
acres of land the same more or less lying at the East end of the Tract of 
land______ and patented by Edward Smithwick,Esquire including the clearing 
or Cowpen now made on the said land I give and g! rant unto Sarah Olivent 
aforesaid the aforesaid tract of land_____ thereunto always_____ and 
watercourses and commodities, Priviledges and appurtenances to the same 
belonging or ______ to have and to hold the said tract of land with all 
______ thereunto belonging, appertaing untot he said Sarah Olivent and her 
heirs forever without any Consideration of Money______ to be paid unto me. 
Therefore unto me the said Edmundson Samuel Smithwick, my heirs, executors 
assigns, name the aforesaid Sarah Olivent and her heirs all my rights title 
I hold on the land in Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 
twenty first day of March 1792
