I, KEDAR BIGGS, of the State of North Carolina and County of Martin, this the fifth day of November, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ten, do constitute and ordain these lines my last will and testament. First, I commit my soul into the hand of God, Who gave it me, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner, and, as touching those worldly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of in the following manner and form: I lend to my loving wife, HANNAH BIGGS, during her natural life or widowhood, all my property both real and personal, both within and without, and at her death or marriage to be as followeth: Item, at the death or marriage of my wife, I give to my son ASA BIGGS the land and plantation whereon I now live, all the privileges, sway and conveniences thereunto belonging or appertaining, supposing them to be sixty-five acres more or less, with all the other property he has already received, to him and his heirs forever. Item, at the death or marriage of my wife, I give to my daughters NANCY HARRISON, PENNY WARREN and SARAH LEGGETT my Negro man, PETER, equally between them, share and share alike, with all the other property they have received, to them and their heirs forever. All the rest of my property that I have not particularly mentioned I desire that at the death or marriage of my wife to be equally divided between all my children, namely, NANCY HARRISON, JOHN BIGGS, REUBEN BIGGS, WILLIAM BIGGS, PENNY WARREN, ASA BIGGS and SARAH LEGGETT, to them and their heirs forever.
