Maarbjerg In the Name of God Amen, I Joseph Hardison of the State of North Carolina of County of Martin being Weak in Body but of a Sound and Perfect mind & memory thanks be to god and Calling to mind the Mortality of my body & knowing that is is Appointed for all men Once to die do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner & form following. Viz First of all I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that Gaveth and my body I comment to the Earth to be buried at the Discretion of the Executors Nothing doubting but with the General Resurrection I Shall Receive the same by the Mighty power of God and as touching Such Worldly Estate as it hath Pleased God in this life to Bless me with I give and Dispose of in the following Manner. Item first: I will that all my Just Debts be lawfully Paid. Item. I lend unto my beloved Wife Mary Hardison all and singular my real & personal Estate during the term of Ten years for her of Raising and Schooling my Children Only I will that a certain piece & parcel of Land whereon Aaron Demarits (?) Now lives be sold as Ordered to help pay my Debts in Case that Should be Needing. Item. I also lend unto my wife Mary Hardison after the term of Ten years be devised One third of all my personal & Real Estate during her Natural life and After her decease to be Equally Divided Amongst my Children (List) Millicent Wiggins Judith Charles William and Nancy. Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Millicent Rhodes one Negro Girl named Silkey(?) But if my said Daughter Should decease without a lawful Heir begotten of her body I will that the Said Negroes belonging to her Be Divided as the other part of my Estate. I also well and bequeath that after my wife having her third during her Natural life the rest and residual of my personal and Real estate be Divided among my Children before Matured .......... to Mr. Christopher Miller(?) and to Dr. John Hilliard ............ in case one or more of My Children should die before a lawfull Heir begotten of their bodies that this Legacy be returned and divided as aforementioned. Item. I will and bequeath to my sons Wiggins and William Hardison my Lands in the Piney Woods on Walshes Creek also two Lotts in Western of Plymouth and an Oak ..... to them and their heirs for Ever. Item. I will and bequeath to my Son Charles Hardison One Hundred Acres of Land Adjoining the land of William Carkeet and the ..... Lands to him and his heirs for ever. Item. I hereby Constitute ordain and Appoint m y Trusty friends John Mackey (?), Benjy(?) Roberson & Arthur Rhodes Executors of this my last Will & testament and I do hereby Revoke & disannul all and Every Other ..... Testament Legacies bequests by me in Any ways before by me made Willed & bequeathed .....and Confirming this & No Other to be my last Will & Testament .
