Martin Co Will Book 2, pages 98 and 99. In the name of God. Amen. I, NOAH PERRY, of the State and County, being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be to God, do this 15th day of August in the year of our Lord 1824 make and publish this, my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say, First, I lend unto my wife, MILLY PERRY, my land and plantation whereon I now live, during her lifetime or widowhood. I lend also to my wife all my stock of every description, and together with my Negro fellow JAMES and HANNAH and also my boy DEMPSEY. Second, I give unto my son NOAH PERRY my tract of land over the little creek and joining JONATHAN REDDICK and others. Thirdly, I give unto my son REDDING PERRY a tract of land known by the PUTTLE Land on the west side of the road and on the east side of the road I give the balance of said tract of land to my son NOAH PERRY after the death of my wife or marriage I give unto my son ALFRED PERRY all my creek land. Fourthly, [there] has been given to my son REDDING PERRY a Horse, bridle and saddle and cow & calf and bed & furniture. JOHN HODGES has received eighty-five dollars and a cow & calf and bed & furniture, in part of his wife's doing. ROBERT LANIER has received thirty-six dollars and bed and furniture and six head of sheep for his wife. ISRAEL ROBASON has received one bed & furniture in part for his wife. JOSEPH BIGGS has received one bed & furniture in part for his wife. I give also to my son NOAH PERRY my Negro boy by the name of ADAM, and also I give to my son ALFRED my Negro boy by the name of GEORGE. I wish for the Negroes lent to my wife, if they do not behave, to be hired out. I also wish for all the Negroes not given nor lent to be hired out as soon as they will bring anything, and after the death of my wife or marriage, I want all my property not given away to be equally divided among all my girls. I also give unto my sons REDDING and NOAH my blacksmith tools. I also wish for my mare and colt and all the hogs [that] can be spared to be sold to pay my just debts, and also what corn that can be spared to be sold also. I wish and also lend to my wife all my land in Beaufort County during her lifetime or widowhood, and after to be equally divided between all my daughters, and also I lend unto my wife, MILLY PERRY, a tract of land adjoining JASON TICE and JOHN PERRY, and after her death or marriage to be equally divided among all my daughters.
