Martin County, NC - Will of Elijah Price, 1794 ~~~~~~~~~~ THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ELIJAH PRICE In the name of God Amen I, Elijah Price of the State of No. Carolina and County of Martin being in a very low state of health but thanks be to God of right mind and memory and calling to mind that it is appointed unto all men once to die and after death to appear before God in a judgement day and first of all I give my Soul into the Hands of God that first gave it to me and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent like burial at the discretion of my Executors and touching my worldly goods that it been pleased Almighty God to bless me with after my debts and paid. I give demise and dispose in the following manner and form: Item I give to my daughter, WINNE (Winnie?) MARTIN, two cows and two calves and one weather with what she hath already received to her and her heirs forever. Item I give to my daughter, ELIZABETH two cows and two calves and one weather with what she hath already received to her and her heirs forever. Item I give to my daughter MARY PRICE one feather bed and furniture and two cows and two caves and one weather and one hundred dollars to be raised out of my personal estate to her and her heirs forever. Item I give to my daughter SARAH PRICE one feather bed and furniture and two cows and two caves and one weather to her and her heirs forever. Item I lend to my wife NANCY PRICE all the residue of my estate during her life or widowhood. Item I give to my son ELIJAH PRICE the land and plantation that I now live on agreeable to a Deed from John Price to me and my negro fellow Benjamin and lot lying in Washington and five cows and one feather bed and furniture and one desk and one negro woman, Mary, and her increase and two negro boys, Perry and Lank, provided the child my wife Nancy Price is big with should not be a boy. If it should, my negro woman, Mary and my negro boys Perry and Lank to be equally divided between them. I give to the child My wife Nancy Price is big with if it should be a boy, all the land that I have not already given and half of my negro woman Mary and increase and half of my negro boy, Perry and half of my negro boy Lank to it and it`s heirs forever. Item I give I give to daughters SCINA PRICE, NANCY PRICE, and LYDDA PRIC and the child that my wife is big with, if it should be a girl all the residue of my personal estate to be equally divided between them, to them and their heirs forever. Item I give to my daughters SARAH, SCINA, NANCY, and LYDDA the residue of my negroes to them and their heirs forever. And for the further executing this my Last Will and Testament, I make and consitute Joseph Biggs, Sen. and Jesse Cherry Esq. as whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke disavow and disanull all and every other will and bequeths by me heretofore made and do hereby sign seal publish and declare this to be my last will and testament on the first day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety-four.
