Wills In the name of God Amen, I WILLIAM SWANNER of Martin County and State of North Carolina being very sick but sound memory thanks be to God for the same and Calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing it was once appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows, that is to say first principal I give and recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried at the discretion of executors, as to my wordly estate it has pleased God to give me , I give and bequeath as follows: It is my wish at my death that my just debts should be paid and for that purpose it is my wish that my exors should dispose of a nouf of my perishable estate to satisfy the same- I lend unto my beloved wife, WINNEY SWANNER my land, negroes and all my perishable estate during her natural life and at her death I give all my land, negroes and perishables estate to be equally divide amongst my living heirs lawfull begotten of my body- I nominate my worthy friends JESSE CHERRY and JAMES MAYO as my executors in the name of God amen so I set my hand and seal in the presents of our this the 10th August 1822.
