IRENE KELLY COLLIS HUFF 

LITTLE SWITZERLAND - Irene Kelly Collis Huff, 80, formerly of Old Fort, died 
Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. Born in McDowell County, 
she was the daughter of the late Bulo and Jennie Burgin Kelly, and wife of the 
late Arnold B. Huff. She was also preceded in death by one son, John D. 
Collis. She graduated Asheville Buncombe Technical College with a degree in 
Nursing. She also graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Technology and 
practiced nursing for 30 years.

Survivors include one son, Charles Collis of Yokosuka, Japan; one daughter, 
Judy Koon of Spruce Pine; two brothers, Clifford Kelly of Charlotte, and Bill 
Kelly of Arizona; five sisters, Clara Boger, Mary Howard, and Sue Bentley, all 
of Charlotte, Hazel Vastag of Rock Hill, and Polly Kelly of Asheville; four 
grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday at Ebenezer Methodist Church. 
The Rev. Vernon Buchanan and Rev. Hawkins officiated. Burial followed in 
Siloam-Ebenezer Cemetery. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the 
service hour at the church.
