A neighbor told me her family always called it the "slave cemetery". It is probably an early cemetery of Red Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Very few graves are marked, even with fieldstones. I don't know how many graves might be here, probably at least 25, maybe a lot more. It is extremely overgrown with periwinkle and trees. New development has started on the outer edge of this cemetery, and some graves may have already been destroyed (it is very hard to tell this is a cemetery, and it is not marked on maps so far). The only marked graves we found: Amy Oliver died 1882 (scratched on stone) Oisa Julia daug. Of Celia Baxter born Sept. 18, 1891 died May 4, 1892 (this is an actual tombstone, with a footstone with her initials) Turzie wife of Eli Hinson born Aug. 27, 1826 died Dec. 17, 1896 She was a good woman, saved by grace. (Eli Hinson founded Arlington Baptist Church, across the street, and he and his wife are buried there with one marker. This may have been her marker before it was replaced at his death with one for both of them.)
