This African-American church was formed 138 years ago (1860) in Steele
Creek
Township.  The well-kept cemetery is beside the church in a large, sloping,
unfenced lawn.  There are very many unmarked graves, and a few graves
marked
only by field stones.  In some areas, there are wide spaces of unmarked
graves or unused plots between marked graves.

Directions:  From I-85, travel south on Little Rock Road across Wilkinson
Blvd. and past Charlotte-Douglas Airport.  Little Rock Road changes names
and becomes Old Dowd Road.  Turn left onto Wallace Neel Road, then right on
Dixie River Road, then right on Mount Olive Church Road.  Continue on Mount
Olive Church Road - the church is on the right side of the road.
