STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA      COURT OF EQUITY       MECKLENBURG COUNTY
August Term, 1841

KENNADY & DOGHARTY
       vs.
CHARLES W. HARRIS & ROBERT PICKENS

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that one of the defendants, 
ROBERT PICKENS, is not a resident of this State. It is therefore ordered by 
the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte 
Journal notifying said non-resident defendant to be and appear at the next 
term of the Court of Equity to be held for the County of Mecklenburg at the 
Court House in Charlotte on the fourth Monday in February. Then and there to 
plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise, judgment will be 
taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to him. Witness DAVID R. DUNLAP, 
Clerk of said Court at office on the fourth Monday in August, A. D., 1841.
