MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC - MILITARY - Henry Long, Revolutionary War Record --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Henry Long moved to Mecklenburg County, N. C. in 1766 from Augusta County, Va. (now Rockingham County). Henry was the father-in-law of Jeremiah Clontz. Henry Long is listed as a Revolutionary War Patriot. He was too old to be in the military (b. 1740) but he furnished the Continental Army with beef and was paid by Congress through the State of N.C. (__ day of January in the year 178_. Not legible). He did not apply for any pension and this is the only piece of documentation available. DAR approved him as a Rev.
