The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC - Sat 04/16/1887 1887

Charlotte Observer:
Mr. Alexander Potts, who lives about four miles from Davidson College, was called to
the door of his house night before last about 10 o'clock and fired upon by an 
unknown party, with a shotgun, covering his entire breast.  Dr. Paul Baringer was 
summoned shortly afterwards.  He was still living at last reports.
