Tues. Dec. 17, 1805, Wilmington Gazette December 17, 1805

RALEIGH-- Dec. 2 --On Monday last, NATHANIEL ALEXANDER, ESQ. of Mecklenburg 
County, was elected Governor of this State for the ensuing year. The following 
gentlemen were, on Friday, elected a Council of State, viz.: BRYAN WHITFIELD, 
SAMUEL ALSTON of Warren, JOHN BRANCH, ROBERT COCHRAN, JAMES KENAN, REUBEN WOOD 
and ROBERT BURTON, ESQS.
