They Return Their Thanks.

A deputation of old North Carolina veterans now living in South Carolina and 
who were present at the meeting of the Mecklenburg camp and at the picnic 
Thursday, called at the Observer office yesterday and requested us to say that 
their treatment was so handsome and their enjoyment of the occasion so great 
that they could not rest satisfied without giving public expression to their 
thanks. Mr. James Potts, a member of the old Hornet's Nest Riflemen, Company 
B, First North Carolina, was the spokesman of the occasion.
