  -- The Annual Meeting of the Mecklenburg Temperance Society was held on 
Wednesday, the 5th instant, at Sugar Creek Church. The meeting, after having 
been opened with prayer by the REV. R. H. MORRISON was addressed in a very 
appropriate manner by JAMES W. OSBORNE, ESQ. and DR. WM. FLINN.
