Feb. 10, 1882
MR. P. T. FREEMAN of Mecklenburg County has a horse stolen one night last week 
and the same night his brother's house was robbed of $300.

Sept. 23, 1883
PINK and JO KING of Mecklenburg were out hunting. PINK blazed away at a covey 
of partridges and missed them, but filled JO's head, face, and shoulders with 
shot. The Charlotte Observer says he won't die.
