It commenced somewhere near ALEXANDER 'S Ferry on the Catawba River and passed over the plantation of R. S. McGEE on the Western plank road, where it blew down his gin house and blacksmith shop, thence to MR. CHRISTENBURY'S, blowing off the second story of his house; but the old gentleman and his wife, being in the house escaped, the floor protecting them. We learn that the tornado reached Poplar Tent in Cabarrus County. We have heard of no serious accident, but great damage has been done to the timber -- Charlotte Whig File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/mecklenburg/newspapers/terrible200nw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ncfiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
