No Place Like Mecklenburg

Mr. W.A. Potts, of Davidson, decided about two months ago that the garden spot 
of the world was in New Mexico. He thought that New Mexico was destined to be 
the richest part of the Union. So enthusiastic was Mr. Potts that he moved to 
that territory, taking with him his family.

Mr. Potts and his family spent yesterday in the city on their return from the 
new country. He had spent six weeks there and had become tired of it. "There 
is no place like old Mecklenburg, after all," said Mr. Potts with a sigh of 
satisfaction.
