May 10, 1848   Charlotte Journal
   DIED, on Tuesday, the 25th ult., JOHN BARNETT, in the 91st year of his age. 
The deceased was almost the last survivor among us of the Band of Patriots who 
devoted themselves to the defense of their country in the trying times of the 
Revolution. He was for many years an exemplary member of the Presbyterian 
Church, of which he was a Ruling Elder.
