Mr. Wm. Beaver, one of the oldest citizens of Mecklenburg county, died at his 
home in Clear Creek township at 6:30 o'clock, on January 2nd. Mr. Beaver was 
born on May 5th, 1805, and was a highly respected man. He was for many years 
an elder in the Philadelphia church. He leaves a large family of children, all 
grown.
