G. L. BANKER DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

    George L. Banker, a well known farmer living about three miles from
Charlotte on the Pineville road, died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at
Presbyterian Hospital after an illness of about one week. He was forty-seven
years of age, and is survived by his wife, two adopted children and his
mother.
    Funeral services will be held this aftermoon at four o'clock at Sugar
Creek Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the churchyard.
